In this episode Kim Moran interviews Banning Liebscher. Their conversation touches on the unique challenges and opportunities that COVID-19 has provided for church life. Benefits like clarity for leaders on what matters most in ministry, a greater confidence that Jesus will build His church in hard seasons of disruption, and the way in which the pandemic has exposed areas of immaturity in the lives of believers are highlighted.
Banning exposes the unhealthy motivations that occasionally drive leaders in the church and paints a compelling picture of being captivated again by the things that please the heart of Jesus. Leaders are invited to measure what matters to God and pursue a life of service that elevates Christ and others above personal ego.

Book: The Three Mile Walk
Following Jesus is meant to be a life-giving adventure. More than holy discontent, or a continual sense of thwarted destiny, Jesus invites us into HIs good plans for the world. The Three Mile Walk is packed to the brim with stirring stories that will build faith and expectation for what God can do in our lives. Based on the life of the biblical figure, Jonathan, Banning explores holiness, courage and faith as the keys that unlock our place in God’s purposes.
God didn’t put us on this planet to leave it as we found it. We are called to be agents of change and The Three Mile Walk points the way forward. Get book

This episode was brought to you by Compassion. The mission of Compassion is to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. And they’re doing exactly that in 25 different countries. Now, here is what is unique about Compassion—100% of their work is done in partnership with local churches. In fact, for many of the communities Compassion serves, they don’t know a large international NGO—they simply know the people of the local church who serve the most vulnerable in their community. Compassion’s heart for the local church extends here, to Canada, too. They are experts at equipping the Canadian church for mission in ways that are tailored to each church’s unique context. We want to encourage you to begin a transformative missions partnership with Compassion.
