During the Church Leaders Incubator trip to London in May, Jason and our cohort of Canadian pastors spent a day in Oxford, UK. We visited different Christian sites, including St. Aldates Church where we had booked time to connect with pastors and teachers. While there, one of their pastors graciously helped to host us and even gave us a tour of the surrounding streets.
Simon Ponsonby is the pastor of theology at St. Aldates who took us on that tour and is today’s guest for Jason’s interview. He’s a fourth-generation preacher, yet his life didn’t always look like it would move in that direction. Simon shares some of his story, coming to faith, and what his journey of studies, church planting, and pastoring has looked like over the decades.
Jason and Simon dive into topics like revival, the power of learning church history, holiness, and the fear of the Lord. They also unpack some of Simon’s work as an author and theologian, such as his book on wonder and staying amazed by Jesus. As you listen to today’s conversation, we hope that the Spirit will encourage and build up your soul.
Thanks to Compassion Canada for sponsoring today’s episode. You can learn more about partnering with them as a church here.
