“The [Lead Pastors Fellowship] was a unique experience in my pastoral journey, and looking back, one that I desperately needed. Our times together were valuable, yes for the content – we heard from some amazing voices, visited incredible churches, but in hindsight, I can’t begin to overstate the value of the friendships that were formed. They have an ongoing, regular impact on my life, my family, and my ministry, and for that, I’m so grateful.”

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We recognize that for many, the cost of this program is a significant investment. We have worked hard as a ministry to keep this price competitive with schooling (a class is often ~$1500 per semester) and other training programs so that it can be accessible to as many pastors as possible.
To be transparent, we price this program at a loss because we believe so much in the mission of strengthening pastors. And not just us, but our donors, partner churches, and partner organizations as well that help to make this program possible. The price paid by participants represents roughly half of what it costs to run this program.
We also believe that the size and intimate nature of the program gives access and creates conversations with guests and each other that wouldn’t be possible in larger settings, and that it’s worth the price for those to be possible.
Lastly, we want to do this well so that it’s as impactful and meaningful as it can be for you in your journey as a pastor.

Through our friends at Calling Ministries, we are grateful to provide next steps in applying for a $500 bursary which can be used for either the program costs or for travel related expenses. Please email josh@ccln.ca for next steps and more information.
If finances present a barrier to you doing the program, please let us know and we would love to explore additional ways to remove that barrier.
-
We understand that in ministry there can be conflicts that arise and demanding schedules. As such, we recognize that there will be times it may not work to attend a monthly gathering or trip.
However, if you know that you will be unable to make it to any of the three trips, or suspect that you will miss more than two of the monthly gatherings, please connect with our team to discuss further. Your engagement is key to yourself and others also having a great experience.
-
Our goal is to make this program life-giving and not burdensome, which is why we have built it around a few key trips and a lighter monthly cadence.
Most months you can expect two hours in a session with the group, then potentially some relational investment you’ll make with other pastors outside of that meeting.
“Homework” or extra materials will be limited and almost always optional, simply shared to further your reflection if helpful. The three trips are the primary time investments for the program.
-
We want to bring in some of the best thinkers and pastors we know to speak to the topics we are working through together and to give opportunities for dialogue that can’t always happen elsewhere. In the past, guests have included Canadians like Shaila Visser, Darrell Johnson, Keith Taylor, and Allison Alley, as well as international guests like Tyler Staton, Jon Tyson, Pete Hughes, and Mark Sayers.
-
Some of the best relationship building can happen when we travel together and some of the best ministry learnings come from exposure to new environments. During our City Meetups, we will connect with pastors in those cities to learn from their lives and churches. We will also have ample time for connecting with each other, praying for one another, and reflecting on experiences together.
-
Of course! If someone comes to mind, please pass their name along to Josh or Jason with some more information about them and their church.
-
If you pastor alongside your spouse and would be interested in exploring how you can both partake in the program together, we would love to talk more with you about how that could work. Please reach out at josh@ccln.ca.
-
Our hope is that you would not have to pay for a significant part of this program out of pocket, but that it can be an investment from your church into your soul and leadership. If you will need to seek approval for funding from your board or denomination, or want to share with a donor that might support you in this program, we have created a letter template that you can start with. If a reference or more information is needed, please don’t hesitate to ask our team.
-
We have designed this program to work with a minimum of 10 pastors, with around 15 being our ideal size. If we are unable to reach 10 pastors before our intake deadline, we will be unable to go forward with the program this year.
