FOR THE PASTOR WHO…

wants to pastor their whole life with integrity and end their time in ministry still in love with Jesus.

longs to be not just a good leader, but a deep disciple of Jesus; a good friend, spouse, parent, and colleague.

might feel called to lead a church one day but doesn’t know what to focus on in their development.

sometimes finds pastoring lonely and has found it difficult to build friendships with other pastors.

WHY THE

emerging leaders lab?

Picture a pastor for a moment. This pastor has a sincere, growing relationship with Jesus. Their life is deeply enmeshed in community, where they are known and accountable. And this community spans across denominational and geographical lines. They know who they are and who they are not. Their personal vision and values are clear. They lead with a robust and hopeful ecclesiology. They are teachable, humble and eager to grow in an ongoing way by the Spirit. They are able to securely and effectively lead in the context of a team. They have a vision for Kingdom impact that takes more than their church and reaches far beyond it. They are well versed in the competencies necessary to lead a church effectively in this moment. They have set themselves on a trajectory for decades and decades of faithful church ministry…

You will not accidentally become a pastor like this. That is why we started the Emerging Leaders Lab.

what is the emerging leaders lab?

The Emerging Leaders Lab is a 12 month pastoral formation community that allows women and men to go beyond conferences and content dumps, into:

  • Abiding in Christ: An invitation to participate in the inner life and love of the Trinity

  • Calling: A divine invitation to the life of vocational ministry as expressed through your God-given wiring and gifting

  • Community: A willingness to cultivate deep, vulnerable friendships that fuels love and good deeds

  • Character: A strong moral fiber that embodies the character of Christ and refuses to bend to the prevailing culture

  • Craft: The willingness and resolve to strengthen ministry skills over time

  • Contending: Living with a sense of dependency on the Holy Spirit to bring renewal to a people and a place

  • Context: Cultivating an understanding and love for your unique place and people

  • Catechesis: A growing understanding of how to educate and form congregants to become disciples

Pastors grow over a lifetime. The Emerging Leaders Lab is designed to be one part of your journey of development and to set you on a trajectory of ongoing growth as a disciple and pastor.
